Unika Medical Centre Uninsured Services
We take pride in our socialized medical care, with most services covered by OHIP. However,
there are instances where OHIP does not cover certain physician efforts and practice costs.
For a comprehensive guide on uninsured services, please refer to the Ontario Medical
Association at OMA Uninsured Services Guide 2026.
Please be aware that the fees are not fixed and may not accurately reflect changes. The fees and
charges are updated every 6 months.
Additionally, please note the following fees relevant to our practice:
- Medication Fee: While OHIP covers essential drugs like local anesthetics for
procedures, some medications may need to be purchased from your pharmacy or paid for
at the clinic. For example, a steroid injectable costs $45. Please inform your doctor if you
prefer to pay on-site or have the prescription sent to your pharmacy. - Not Medically Indicated Procedural Sedation: OHIP does not cover intravenous
sedation for certain procedures (e.g., epidural injections). If requested, the cost is $300
per 30 minutes. - Procedures Not Covered by OHIP:
o Botox Injections: Cost of the drug + $350
o Viscosupplementation (Hyaluronic Acid): $600
o Ketamine treatment (in-clinic): $600 per session
o High-dose capsaicin (in clinic): $289 per session
o Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP): $798–$2500
o Microfractured Adipose Tissue (MFAT): $3469
o DiscFx Procedure: $12,420
o Basivertebral Radiofrequency: $8,400
o Joint Denervation: $1250
o Transcutaneous Nerve Blocks and Vagal Stimulation: $200 per session
o Other Services: OHIP rate (when available) multiplied by the OMA multiplier for
private services, currently 2.9 for 2026.
o Out-of-Province Patients: OHIP rate (when available) x OMA modifier. - Missed or Late-Cancelled Appointments: A fee equal to the applicable OHIP or
uninsured rate will be charged if an appointment is missed or cancelled with less than 24
hours’ notice. - Direct Doctor Messaging (Non-Clinical Reasons): $200 for 12 months (Medeo) or $30
per message/email. - First Consultation via Telephone for the residents of Ontario: $109.70.
